Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Product Manager – Hospital Information Systems with 10+ years of experience to oversee the implementation, adoption, and operations of our hospital's HIS application ecosystem. This role is responsible for managing hospital information systems and related applications across clinical, administrative, diagnostics, and data domains. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless operations and adoption of technology to enhance patient care, hospital operations, and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the digitisation, implementation, adoption, and operations of hospital IT application systems, including HIS, EMR, PACS, LIS, RIS, Data Analytics, and other systems.
- Collaborate with internal user teams to design and map clinical/health processes to optimise workflows, enhance adoption, and drive operational efficiency.
- Lead Health IT application projects, including new technology implementations as per clinical, business, and operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations in India (NABH, NMC, etc.).
- Provide operational excellence ensuring 24x7 availability and performance of all critical hospital application systems.
- Oversee continuous training for medical and non-medical staff to enhance adoption of digital tools.
- Manage vendor relationships for HIS application services and software.
- Stay updated on emerging healthcare technologies and industry trends.
Product Management Roles – Hospital Information Systems
There are four specialist roles within the HIS ecosystem:
Product Manager – Clinical Systems
Own end-to-end clinical HIS modules including OPD, IPD, Nursing Station, Emergency, OT, Pharmacy, and ADT. Translate clinical workflows into system configuration and product requirements. Work closely with doctors, nurses, and clinical leadership to design safe, efficient care processes. Lead clinical requirement gathering, UAT, go-live readiness, and post-implementation optimisation. Configure EMR templates, order sets, clinical pathways, and documentation standards. Coordinate with Diagnostics and Data teams to ensure seamless clinical integration. Support ABDM/ABHA integration and clinical interoperability standards. Support clinician adoption, training, and change management.
Product Manager – Hospital Administration Systems
Own hospital administrative modules including patient registration, procurement, inventory, assets, facilities, and financial workflows. Design efficient operational workflows supporting high-volume care delivery. Oversee configuration of registration, billing, materials management, and asset tracking systems. Work closely with hospital operations, finance, and supply chain teams. Support integration with ERP and accounting platforms.
Product Manager – Diagnostics Systems
Own LIS, RIS, PACS, and diagnostics workflows across labs and radiology. Design end-to-end diagnostic processes from order entry to result reporting. Oversee configuration of lab test catalogues, workflows, and validation processes. Integrate diagnostics with EMR and clinical workflows. Support radiology and pathology image management and reporting pipelines.
Product Manager – Data & Reporting
Own data governance, reporting, and analytics capabilities across HIS. Define data standards, metric definitions, and semantic models. Lead regulatory reporting (NMC, state health authorities, institutional dashboards). Ensure data quality, privacy, consent compliance, and ABDM readiness. Partner with analytics teams to build operational, clinical, and population health dashboards.
Qualifications & Experience
- BE/BTech in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or a Master's in a related field.
- Experience in being a core member of atleast two large HIS/PACS system implementations in the last 5 years from start to finish.
- Demonstrated experience in solutioning and functional design of healthcare IT systems — including process mapping, gap assessments, system architecture alignment, and solution blueprinting for HIS/EMR implementations.
- In-depth knowledge of HIS/PACS and related systems.
- Strong understanding of healthcare industry standards (HL7, FHIR protocols) and regulations, including NABH and NMC guidelines.
- Skilled in project management with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
