The Technical Information Systems Engineer is an entry-level to early-career engineering services professional responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting information technologies, functional excellence processes, and product information change management systems that enable engineering practitioners to work more efficiently and effectively. This role supports engineering workflows by managing technical information, improving processes, and ensuring accurate product and engineering data is available to stakeholders. The position requires collaboration with technical teams to deliver high-quality tools, processes, specifications, and system improvements that enhance operational efficiency and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and support technical information systems, tools, and processes used by engineering teams.
- Execute technical information and knowledge-based activities by fulfilling work requests in accordance with standardized policies, procedures, and quality expectations.
- Support key engineering processes such as Engineering Standard Work (ESW), Value Package Introduction (VPI), product change management, and technical data repository maintenance.
- Manage and maintain technical information libraries, engineering drawings, specifications, and related documentation to ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
- Collaborate with engineering practitioners and cross-functional teams to gather inputs, resolve issues, and deliver solutions that improve engineering productivity.
- Apply technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to resolve moderately complex issues involving components, systems, subsystems, or services.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance systems, workflows, and operational processes.
- Support requirements gathering, solution validation, troubleshooting, and service request fulfillment to maintain high service quality and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure service levels and deliverables meet agreed performance standards and organizational expectations.
- Coordinate work activities with technicians, interns, or temporary employees when required.
- Contribute effectively to team goals while building technical expertise and professional capability.

Experience
- Entry-level or early-career professional with relevant academic or industry exposure in information systems, engineering services, or technical support environments.
- Internship, co-op, or temporary technical experience in a related discipline is preferred.
- Experience working with engineering systems, product lifecycle management tools, or technical documentation is advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications for Internal Candidates
- Knowledge of generator set (Genset) products and systems.
- Experience with Windchill and product change management processes.
- Familiarity with genset sizing tools such as PowerSuite , Seismic , and GenSize is preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or another relevant STEM discipline is required.
- Master’s degree in a related field may be preferred for select roles.
- Licensing or certifications may be required for compliance with export controls or regulatory requirements.
