SDET (Software Developer Engineer in Test)

In this role you will get to:
Define the architecture, design, and implementation of end-to-end test automation solutions.
Participate in setting up automated testing environment for multiple api/microservices based applications
Design robust test suites and scale existing automation frameworks, continuously authoring and maintaining high-quality test scripts as product requirements evolve.
Accelerate release cycles by strategically translating manual regression test suites into efficient automated test scripts.
Lead and execute comprehensive testing for large-scale, consumer-facing web applications and foundational software tools.
Champion engineering excellence by advocating for testing best practices, clean code, and quality guardrails across development teams.
Collaborate with Development Managers, Product Owners and other teams to ensure the highest quality of the product by architecting automation focused solutions.
Who you are:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or related field.
3.5 to 5+ years of proven experience in defining, developing and owning test automation infrastructure for a large enterprise.
Solid foundation in core software testing methodologies, test data management, and test lifecycle design.
Strong capability to maintain a pragmatic balance between manual exploratory testing and automated validation strategies.
Extensive experience leveraging Postman (or equivalent tooling) for deep REST API testing, including schema validation, response parsing, and error-code verification.
Fluency in modern programming languages and automation stacks, specifically Java, JavaScript, or Node.js.
Hands-on expertise with Selenium or equivalent browser automation frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright).
Proven full-stack validation capability spanning both UI/UX performance and backend API testing.
Ability and interest in developing test automation frameworks from scratch.
Be able to contribute in building continuous integration and deployment solutions that serve large software engineering organizations.
Developing test strategies, test plans based on user stories, functional specifications, use cases, and/or business requirements
Solid command of advanced SQL and relational database concepts for backend data validation.
Good to have knowledge of gRPC service validation and experience with observability platforms like Splunk and Grafana.
Familiarity with load/performance testing tools such as JMeter and other open source javascript based libraries.
AI-Native & Forward-Thinking Mindset: Comfortably utilizes AI development and testing tools to maximize scripting efficiency while bringing an active interest in leveraging AI utilities for smart test case generation, predictive defect analysis, and automated test data synthesis

Priceline is following a hybrid working model, which includes two days onsite as determined by you and your manager (ideally selecting among Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday). On the remaining days, you can choose to be remote or in the office.
