Key Responsibilities
1. Material Receipt & Inspection
- Receive raw materials, components, consumables, and finished goods as per purchase orders.
- Verify quantity, quality, batch numbers, and documentation (GRN, invoices, delivery challans).
- Coordinate with Quality/Inspection team for material inspection when required.
- Ensure proper tagging and identification of received materials.
2. Storage & Organization
- Store materials in designated locations as per storage layout.
- Maintain correct FIFO / FEFO practices.
- Ensure proper stacking, labeling, and protection of materials.
- Maintain 5S discipline in stores and warehouse areas.
3. Material Issue & Dispatch
- Issue materials to production as per authorized Material Requisition Slips (MRS).
- Prepare kitting for production lines if applicable.
- Assist in packing, dispatch, and loading of finished goods.
- Ensure accurate documentation for material movement.
4. Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate stock records (manual registers / ERP / SAP / Tally).
- Conduct cycle counts and physical stock verification.
- Report shortages, excess, damages, slow moving, and obsolete inventory.
- Support inventory audits and reconciliation activities.
5. Documentation & Systems
- Prepare and update GRNs, issue slips, stock registers, bin cards, and delivery documents.
- Update inventory transactions in ERP or inventory systems.
- Ensure proper filing and record retention as per company procedures.
6. Safety & Compliance
- Follow EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) guidelines strictly.
- Use appropriate PPE while handling materials.
- Ensure safe handling of hazardous or heavy materials.
- Support compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or other applicable standards.
7. Coordination & Support
- Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Quality, and Logistics teams.
- Inform supervisors about stock levels and material requirements.
- Assist senior stores staff in daily operational planning.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in stores operations.
