Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Purchase Engineer to manage the procurement of electrical materials, equipment, and services for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of electrical products, vendor management, procurement strategies, and project coordination to ensure timely and cost-effective material availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure electrical materials, equipment, and project-related items as per BOQ and project requirements.
- Prepare and evaluate RFQs, comparative statements (CS), and purchase orders.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts with vendors.
- Coordinate with project, planning, estimation, and site teams for procurement requirements.
- Ensure timely procurement to avoid project delays.
- Develop and maintain relationships with OEMs, distributors, and approved vendors.
- Verify technical specifications before procurement.
- Purchase electrical materials including:
- HT/LT Panels
- Transformers
- DG Sets
- Cables (HT/LT)
- Cable Trays
- Bus Ducts
- Switchgear (ABB, Schneider, Siemens, L&T, Legrand, etc.)
- Lighting Fixtures
- Earthing Materials
- Conduits & Raceway Systems
- UPS & Battery Systems
- Coordinate with QA/QC for material inspection and approvals.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with stores to maintain optimum stock.
- Track order status until successful delivery at project sites.
- Resolve vendor-related issues regarding quality, delivery, and commercial terms.
- Maintain procurement documentation, purchase records, and MIS reports.
- Ensure procurement complies with company policies and project budgets.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical materials used in commercial, residential, industrial, and EPC projects.
- Understanding of electrical drawings, BOQs, SLDs, and technical specifications.
- Experience in preparing techno-commercial comparisons.
- Knowledge of IS Standards, IEC Standards, and electrical specifications.
- Familiarity with major electrical brands such as ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric, L&T, Havells, Legrand, Polycab, KEI, Finolex, RR Kabel, etc.
- Ability to coordinate with consultants, contractors, and OEMs.
- Good understanding of GST, purchase documentation, and vendor compliance.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP, SAP, or procurement software.
