Qualification – Diploma in CSSD Technician
Responsibilities and Duties
- Collecting: Gathering used medical tools from operating rooms and wards.
- Sorting: Checking and categorizing instruments based on how they must be cleaned.
- Cleaning: Washing tools manually or using automated washing machines.
- Inspecting: Checking tools for damage, rust, or leftover dirt.
- Assembling: Putting surgical sets and instrument trays back together correctly.
- Packaging: Wrapping tools in special protective sheets or pouches.
- Sterilizing: Operating high-tech machines like autoclaves to kill all bacteria.
- Labeling: Stamping packs with sterilization dates and expiry codes.
- Storing: Keeping sterilized supplies in clean, dust-free storage areas.
- Distributing: Delivering clean instruments back to doctors and nurses.
- Monitoring: Checking machine gauges to ensure the sterilization worked.
- Logging: Keeping accurate paper or digital records of every batch.
Salary (INR): 20,000 to 25,000
