Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced English Editor with a strong background in educational publishing. The ideal candidate must possess excellent command over the English language and a sharp eye for detail, with proven experience in editing, proofreading, and content development for school-level books.
Key Responsibilities:
- Edit and proofread English academic content (textbooks, workbooks, teacher resources) for grammar, punctuation, spelling, clarity, and consistency.
- Ensure adherence to PM Publishers' editorial guidelines and curriculum requirements (CBSE/ICSE/state boards).
- Work closely with content developers, subject matter experts, and designers to ensure timely and high-quality content delivery.
- Rewrite and improve manuscript quality while maintaining the original meaning and voice.
- Fact-check and ensure content accuracy, pedagogical soundness, and age-appropriateness.
- Manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Review page layouts and final proofs for final sign-off before printing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in English, Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field.
- 4 to 5 years of editorial experience in a publishing house (experience in school textbooks is mandatory).
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Strong editing, proofreading, and rewriting skills.
- Familiarity with curriculum standards (NCERT/CBSE/ICSE).
- Proficient in MS Office and editing tools.
- Attention to detail, strong time management, and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Preferred Skills:
- Understanding of child-friendly tone and pedagogy.
- Experience with digital content formats and e-learning platforms is a plus.
- Knowledge of design/layout and publishing software (e.g., InDesign) is desirable but not mandatory.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
