Position: Technician – Railway Telecom / Network Project
Job Summary:
The Technician will be responsible for installation, testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of telecom, networking, and related infrastructure systems in railway projects. The role requires coordination with engineers, contractors, and railway authorities to ensure timely project execution and uninterrupted system performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, test, and commission telecom and networking equipment at railway stations and field locations.
- Perform laying, termination, and testing of OFC (Optical Fiber Cable), UTP cables, and power cables.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of telecom systems and network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot faults in networking, broadband, Wi-Fi, IP-MPLS, CCTV, PA systems, and telecom equipment.
- Monitor system performance and ensure high network availability.
- Conduct site surveys and assist in project implementation activities.
- Maintain records of installation, testing, maintenance, and fault rectification activities.
- Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, contractors, and railway officials during project execution.
- Ensure compliance with railway safety regulations and project quality standards.
- Support commissioning, acceptance testing, and handover activities.
Required Qualifications:
- ITI / Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunication, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum 1 Yr. / Apprenticeship exp can apply
- Experience in railway, telecom, networking, OFC, or infrastructure projects preferred.
- Knowledge of telecom systems, networking equipment, and fiber optic technology.
- Ability to read technical drawings, layouts, and project documentation.
