The Senior Desktop Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, support, and continuous improvement of enterprise end-user computing environments and supporting server infrastructure. This role provides advanced technical expertise in desktop engineering, endpoint management, Windows server administration, virtualization, security, and automation. The individual will serve as a technical escalation point and lead infrastructure projects that enhance reliability, security, and user experience.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesktop & Endpoint Engineering
- Design, deploy, and maintain Windows 10/11 and macOS endpoint environments.
- Manage Microsoft Intune, SCCM/MECM, Group Policy, and Microsoft Endpoint Manager.
- Create and maintain desktop images, software deployment packages, and endpoint configurations.
- Lead OS migrations, hardware refresh programs, and endpoint modernization initiatives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex Tier-3 desktop and application issues.
Server Administration & Infrastructure
- Administer and support Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
- Install, configure, patch, and maintain physical and virtual servers.
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, File Services, Print Services, and Group Policy.
- Perform server performance monitoring, capacity planning, and health checks.
- Support server backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives.
- Participate in server upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure refresh projects.
- Troubleshoot server, storage, and operating system-related issues.
Virtualization & Cloud
- Manage VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or other virtualization platforms.
- Support Azure-based infrastructure and hybrid environments.
- Assist with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Microsoft 365, and Entra ID administration.
- Monitor and optimize virtual desktop and server environments.
Security & Compliance
- Implement endpoint and server security best practices.
- Manage vulnerability remediation and security patching.
- Support EDR, antivirus, encryption, and compliance requirements.
- Participate in audits and security assessments.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹38,000.00 per month
