Job Purpose
The Assistant Manager – Compliance will be responsible for ensuring adherence to all applicable labor laws, statutory regulations, and internal policies. The role involves managing compliance frameworks, conducting audits, mitigating risks, and advising management on legal and regulatory matters to maintain ethical and compliant business operations.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Regulatory Oversight:
Ensure compliance with employment laws, statutory regulations, and company policies
Monitor changes in labor laws and update internal policies accordingly
Ensure timely statutory filings and adherence to legal requirements
2. Policy Development:
Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies in line with legal standards
Review and update compliance policies and procedures periodically
Ensure organization-wide adherence to policies
3. Training and Awareness:
Conduct compliance and policy awareness sessions for employees
Promote a culture of compliance and ethical practices
Educate employees on regulatory requirements and updates
4. Compliance Audits:
Plan and execute internal compliance audits
Identify gaps and areas of non-compliance
Implement corrective and preventive actions
5. Investigations:
Lead investigations into compliance violations and employee grievances
Document findings and recommend corrective or disciplinary actions
Ensure fair and transparent investigation processes
6. Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate employee records as per legal requirements
Ensure proper documentation of HR processes and compliance activities
Safeguard confidential information
7. Reporting:
Prepare compliance reports and dashboards for senior management
Track compliance metrics and highlight risks
Provide insights for continuous improvement
8. Advisory Role:
Provide guidance to management on HR compliance and legal matters
Act as a point of contact for employee compliance queries
Support decision-making with legal and regulatory inputs
9. Risk Management:
Identify compliance risks and develop mitigation strategies
Monitor and improve compliance systems and controls
Ensure proactive risk assessment and resolution
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, HR, Business Administration, or related field
- 5–8 years of experience in HR compliance, statutory compliance, or related role
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulatory frameworks
- Experience in audits, investigations, and policy implementation
- Good understanding of compliance reporting and documentation
