JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title : Mason - Tiles
Reporting To : Assistant Manager - Civil
Key Responsibilities
· Surface Preparation: Clean, level, and prepare surfaces (floors, walls) for tile installation, which may involve applying a bedding of mortar or waterproofing materials.
· Material Management: Calculate material quantities, select appropriate tiles (ceramic, porcelain, stone, etc.), adhesives, and grout based on project specifications.
· Layout and Installation:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to determine the correct layout, patterns, and alignment.
o Measure, cut, and shape tiles using hand and power tools (saws, grinders) to fit around obstacles and architectural features.
o Mix and apply mortar or adhesives using trowels, set tiles in place, and ensure proper alignment, spacing (using spacers), and slope using levels and squares.
o Check for hollowness or defects in the tiled surface.
· Finishing and Quality Control:
o Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess for a clean, uniform finish.
o Clean and polish the finished tiled surfaces.
o Conduct quality checks to ensure work meets industry standards and project specifications, avoiding issues like lippage or misalignment.
· Safety and Coordination:
o Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
o Coordinate daily activities with other construction workers, such as plumbers, electricians, and civil supervisors, to ensure seamless project integration.
o May be responsible for mentoring junior masons or helpers.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
