Senior Mobile Game Developer – Solar2D/Lua

Job Summary
We are looking for a highly experienced Solar2D (formerly Corona SDK) Game Developer with strong expertise in Lua, mobile game development, performance optimization, and native integrations.
Important: Minimum 4+ years of hands-on Solar2D/Corona SDK production experience is mandatory. Unity, Unreal, Godot, or Cocos-only profiles will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain production-ready mobile games using Solar2D and Lua.
- Build scalable gameplay systems, UI, animation, scene management, and asset pipelines.
- Optimize games for 60 FPS, memory usage, draw calls, CPU/GPU performance, and Lua garbage collection.
- Develop and integrate Solar2D Native plugins for Android and iOS.
- Implement monetization using AdMob, AppLovin MAX, Unity Ads, IronSource, and In-App Purchases.
- Integrate Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, and A/B testing.
- Manage Android and iOS build and release processes.
- Collaborate with artists to optimize textures, sprites, atlases, and animations.
Mandatory Skills
- 7+ years professional game development experience.
- 4+ years of production experience with Solar2D/Corona SDK.
- Proven portfolio of published Solar2D/Corona games.
- Expert Lua skills including coroutines, metatables, closures, memory management, and optimization.
- Strong knowledge of Solar2D Composer, display groups, runtime events, transitions, sprite sheets, physics, and Native APIs.
- Experience with Android SDK, iOS, Xcode, Android Studio, Gradle, and App Store Connect.
- Strong mobile performance optimization experience.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD.
Good to Have
- Solar2D plugin/open-source contributions.
- Native Android Java/Kotlin or iOS Swift/Objective-C development.
- Multiplayer/real-time networking.
- LiveOps experience.
- Custom shaders or OpenGL ES.
- Mobile game analytics and economy optimization.
