Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems, Hardware, Network & Firewall Support Engineer to manage, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize enterprise IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in server administration, workstation support, NAS storage management, networking, firewall administration, endpoint security, and infrastructure operations.
This role serves as the senior escalation point for complex technical issues and is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, reliability, and security of IT systems while supporting business operations across the organization.
Key ResponsibilitiesSystems & Server Administration
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments.
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, File Servers, and Print Services.
- Manage Dell PowerEdge servers including hardware diagnostics, firmware updates, RAID configuration, and performance optimization.
- Monitor server uptime, CPU utilization, memory usage, storage performance, and critical services.
- Perform server upgrades, migrations, patch management, and preventive maintenance.
- Manage virtualization environments including VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or equivalent platforms.
- Configure and manage server backups and disaster recovery procedures.
- Perform root cause analysis for recurring infrastructure issues.
Hardware Infrastructure Support
- Diagnose and resolve hardware issues involving servers, desktops, laptops, workstations, printers, scanners, and peripherals.
- Support Dell Precision Workstations, Dell OptiPlex systems, and enterprise endpoint devices.
- Perform hardware installations, upgrades, replacements, and lifecycle management.
- Coordinate warranty support and hardware replacement with vendors.
- Maintain accurate hardware asset inventory and documentation.
- Support workstation deployment, imaging, software installation, and user migration activities.
NAS Storage Administration
- Install, configure, and manage NAS storage solutions such as Synology, QNAP, Dell EMC, NetApp, or equivalent platforms.
- Configure RAID groups, storage pools, shared folders, replication, and backup integration.
- Manage file permissions, quotas, user access controls, and storage security.
- Monitor storage utilization, health, and performance.
- Plan storage expansion and support data migration projects.
- Implement and test backup and disaster recovery procedures.
Network Administration & Support
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, VPN, and Wireless Network infrastructure.
- Administer switches, routers, wireless controllers, and access points.
- Configure and maintain VLANs, routing, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, NAT, and network security policies.
- Monitor network performance, availability, and bandwidth utilization.
- Diagnose and resolve connectivity, latency, and network-related issues.
- Perform network health checks and capacity planning.
- Support structured cabling and network infrastructure upgrades.
Firewall & Security Administration
- Configure, manage, and maintain enterprise firewalls including Fortinet, Sophos, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, SonicWall, or equivalent solutions.
- Create and manage firewall policies, NAT rules, VPN tunnels, security zones, and access controls.
- Monitor firewall logs and security alerts.
- Troubleshoot VPN connectivity and remote access issues.
- Implement endpoint security, antivirus, and security compliance policies.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and remediation activities.
- Support Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Identity Access Management solutions.
- Participate in incident response and security investigations.
Endpoint & User Support
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Support Microsoft Windows 10/11 environments and enterprise applications.
- Troubleshoot operating system failures, login issues, performance problems, and software conflicts.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes including system setup and account provisioning.
- Provide remote support using enterprise remote management tools.
Backup, Monitoring & Disaster Recovery
- Monitor backup jobs and ensure successful completion.
- Perform file-level and system-level restore operations.
- Administer backup solutions and retention policies.
- Monitor infrastructure using tools such as PRTG, SolarWinds, Zabbix, ManageEngine, or equivalent.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and documentation.
- Ensure business continuity requirements are met.
Documentation & Process Improvement
- Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, network diagrams, and infrastructure inventories.
- Document troubleshooting procedures and known issue resolutions.
- Develop and improve operational processes and support workflows.
- Create knowledge base articles for recurring issues.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and audit requirements.
Vendor & Project Coordination
- Coordinate with hardware vendors, ISPs, software vendors, and service providers.
- Manage warranty claims, support contracts, and escalations.
- Participate in infrastructure projects, system upgrades, and technology implementations.
- Support office expansions, network deployments, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
- Provide technical recommendations for infrastructure improvements and future planning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Engineering, or related field.
- 4–8+ years of experience in Systems Administration, Infrastructure Support, Networking, and Security.
- Strong experience managing enterprise server and storage environments.
- Hands-on experience with Dell PowerEdge Servers and Dell Workstations.
- Proven experience managing NAS storage solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration and Active Directory.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and security best practices.
- Experience managing enterprise firewalls and VPN solutions.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
