About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Flex Printing Machine Operator to handle our large-format printing operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating solvent, eco-solvent, or UV flex printing machines, and will be responsible for producing high-quality flex banners, hoardings, backlit prints, and other large-format print materials. You should be able to set up the machine, load media, manage ink, and deliver clean, accurate print output as per the job requirement.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate large-format flex printing machines (solvent / eco-solvent / UV / latex — as applicable)
- Set up the machine before each print job: media loading, head alignment, print test, and color calibration
- Load and manage ink cartridges, check ink levels, and replace as required
- Feed design files for printing, set correct print size, resolution, and media profile
- Monitor print quality during the job and make real-time adjustments (banding, color issues, misalignment)
- Perform routine maintenance: head cleaning, nozzle checks, capping station cleaning, and daily servicing
- Identify and resolve common machine issues (head clogging, media jam, ink flow problems)
- Cut and finish printed flex material as per required dimensions
- Track print jobs, material consumption, and wastage log
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the machine and work area
- Coordinate with the design/production team to ensure correct files are received before printing
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 10th / 12th pass; ITI or technical diploma preferred
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience operating flex printing machines (Roland, Mimaki, Epson, Flora, Wit-Color, Infiniti, or similar)
- Knowledge of solvent, eco-solvent, or UV printing processes
- Ability to read and interpret print job sheets and design output requirements
- Basic understanding of print file formats (JPEG, PDF, TIFF) and correct resolution for large-format printing
- Ability to handle media types: vinyl, flex, backlit film, one-way vision, canvas
- Knowledge of machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
- Physical ability to handle large rolls of flex material and stand for extended periods
- Attention to detail — accurate sizing, straight feeding, and quality checks
Good to Have (Not Mandatory)
- Experience with RIP software (Maintop, PhotoPrint, Wasatch, or similar)
- Basic knowledge of color management: ICC profiles, color matching
- Ability to operate both indoor and outdoor printing machines
- Experience with finishing equipment: laminator, cutter plotter, eyeleting machine
- Knowledge of banner welding / hemming for finishing output
