Position Summary
The Medical Typist / Medical Transcriptionist is responsible for accurately transcribing, typing, editing, and discharge summaries. The position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent typing skills, and strict adherence to patient confidentiality and hospital policies.
Key ResponsibilitiesMedical Typing & Documentation
- Type and prepare discharge summaries, medical reports, certificates, referral notes, and clinical documents.
- Prepare OPD, IPD, ICU, Emergency, and procedure-related documentation.
- Ensure all reports are completed accurately and within the prescribed turnaround time.
- Format and proofread documents before final submission.
Medical Transcription
- Transcribe doctors' dictated notes, audio recordings, and handwritten clinical notes into electronic format.
- Convert medical dictations into accurate and standardized reports.
- Review transcribed reports for grammatical, spelling, and medical terminology accuracy.
- Clarify unclear dictations with concerned consultants whenever required.
Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with consultants, residents, nursing staff, and administrative departments.
- Follow up for pending discharge summaries and clinical documentation.
- Assist departments in preparing reports required for insurance, TPA, CGHS, ECHS, NABH, and statutory compliance.
Compliance & Confidentiality
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
- Comply with NABH standards, hospital policies, and legal requirements.
- Ensure secure handling of patient records and medical data.
Pay: ₹14,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
