Role Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and customer-focused Pharmacist to join the Retail Pharmacy team at Jothydev's Diabetes Hospital and Research Centre. The candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications accurately, ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations, counseling patients on medication usage, and supporting high standards of pharmaceutical care, especially for diabetes and related health conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescribed medications accurately and efficiently.
- Review prescriptions for correctness, dosage, drug interactions, and patient safety.
- Counsel patients regarding medication usage, dosage, side effects, storage, and precautions.
- Maintain proper records of narcotic and scheduled drugs as per regulatory requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate stock management, expiry tracking, and replenishment.
- Ensure proper storage conditions for medicines and healthcare products.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals regarding medication-related queries.
- Provide guidance to pharmacy assistants and support staff.
- Handle billing, insurance claims, and pharmacy software operations where applicable.
- Maintain cleanliness and compliance with hospital and pharmacy standards.
- Educate diabetic patients regarding medication adherence and lifestyle support when required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) from a recognized institution.
- Valid Pharmacist Registration Certificate from the State Pharmacy Council.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in retail or hospital pharmacy preferred.
- Experience in diabetes care pharmacy will be an added advantage.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with pharmacy management software.
- Strong attention to detail and ethical pharmacy practices.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of diabetes medications, insulin handling, and patient counseling.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Teamwork and multitasking abilities.
