Maintenance & Reliability Plan and execute preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment. Ensure maximum availability and reliability of critical process equipment and utilities. Troubleshoot recurring equipment failures and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize breakdowns and downtime. Review daily shift reports, equipment logbooks and maintenance activities. Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for reliability improvement. 2. API Plant Equipment & Utilities Handle maintenance of reactors, centrifuges, dryers, filters, pumps, vacuum systems, agitators, compressors and other mechanical equipment. Monitor utility systems such as chilled water, cooling water, compressed air, steam, hot water, HVAC and vacuum systems. Ensure utilities are supplied reliably as per production requirements. Monitor utility consumption and implement energy-saving initiatives. 3. Preventive Maintenance & Spares Prepare and monitor preventive maintenance schedules. Ensure timely availability of critical mechanical spares. Identify critical equipment and maintain appropriate minimum/maximum stock levels. Raise purchase requisitions and coordinate with procurement and vendors. Maintain equipment history cards and maintenance records. 4. Projects & Engineering Modifications Support execution of new equipment installation, modification and expansion projects. Review equipment specifications, layouts, drawings, P&IDs and technical documents. Coordinate equipment erection, installation, commissioning and qualification activities. Coordinate with Production, QA, EHS, Projects, Procurement and external contractors. Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning and performance verification activities. 5. GMP & Documentation Ensure engineering activities comply with cGMP, site SOPs and quality-system requirements. Prepare/review maintenance SOPs, protocols, equipment history cards and preventive-maintenance records. Support qualification/requalification of equipment and utility systems. Handle deviations, Change Controls, CAPA and investigation-related engineering activities. Maintain documentation required for internal, customer and regulatory audits. 6. Safety & Statutory Compliance Ensure safe execution of all maintenance and engineering activities. Ensure compliance with permit-to-work systems including hot work, vessel entry, work at height and other applicable permits. Ensure compliance of pressure vessels, boilers, lifting equipment and other statutory requirements. Conduct toolbox talks and promote safe working practices among technicians and contractors. Ensure proper housekeeping and 5S in engineering areas. 7. Team & Contractor Management Allocate work to technicians, engineers and contractors based on priority. Supervise maintenance activities and ensure timely closure of work orders. Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with safety and GMP requirements. Train and develop subordinates on equipment maintenance, GMP and safety practices. 8. Reporting & Continuous Improvement Prepare daily, weekly and monthly engineering reports. Track KPIs such as equipment availability, breakdown hours, PM compliance and maintenance cost. Identify opportunities for cost reduction, energy conservation and equipment improvement. Implement Lean, Kaizen and reliability-improvement initiatives where applicable.
