Position: Bakery Chef – Bread Specialist
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and passionate Bakery Chef specializing in artisan breads to join our bakery team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in bread fermentation, dough handling, and large-scale bread production while maintaining consistent quality and taste. The role involves preparing a variety of artisan and specialty breads, managing bakery operations, and ensuring high standards of hygiene and efficiency.
Experience: 2-3 years experience in professional bakery environments.
Job Location: BKC Mumbai, Maharashtra.
CTC Range: ₹20,000 – ₹35,000/month (depending on experience).
Key Responsibilities Bread Production:
- Prepare and bake a wide range of breads.
- Manage dough mixing, fermentation, proofing, shaping, and baking processes.
- Ensure consistent texture, crust, flavor, and appearance of breads
Recipe & Product Development
- Develop new bread recipes and improve existing ones.
- Maintain standardized recipes and portion control.
Production Management
- Plan daily baking schedules.
- Monitor ingredient inventory and ensure proper stock levels.
- Minimize wastage and maintain production efficiency.
Quality & Hygiene
- Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ensure compliance with kitchen sanitation regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness of bakery equipment and workspace.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bakery Chef / Artisan Bread Baker.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Bread fermentation
- Dough hydration levels
- Sourdough starters
- Baking temperatures and techniques
- Experience with commercial bakery equipment (deck ovens, mixers, proofers).
- Ability to work in early morning production schedules.
- Strong attention to detail and consistency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in Bakery & Patisserie.
- Experience in artisan bakeries, hotels, or premium cafés.
- Knowledge of international bread styles.
