About the Role
ShishuVihar School, Parel, is looking for an experienced Primary Social Studies Teacher to teach the Cambridge Primary curriculum. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of the Cambridge International framework and a passion for helping young learners understand history, geography, and society through inquiry-based learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver Social Studies lessons for primary-level students as per the Cambridge Primary curriculum framework
- Develop students' understanding of history, geography, civics, and cultural awareness through activity-based and inquiry-led teaching
- Design assessments in line with Cambridge Primary standards and track individual student progress
- Prepare report cards and provide structured feedback to students and parents
- Integrate cross-curricular projects, maps, timelines, and real-world examples into lessons
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, school events, and curriculum planning sessions
- Coordinate with the academic coordinator to align with Cambridge Primary assessment and reporting requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent; a Bachelor’s degree in History, Geography, or Social Sciences is preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience teaching Social Studies at the primary/junior level
- Prior experience with the Cambridge Primary curriculum strongly preferred
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer proficiency for lesson planning and record-keeping
Salary
As per industry standards, commensurate with experience.
