Position Summary
The Duty Doctor is responsible for providing comprehensive clinical support across fertility, gynecology, and general healthcare services. The role involves patient assessment, clinical coordination, emergency response, and ensuring smooth day-to-day medical operations within the Centre.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong clinical judgment, empathy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced fertility care environment.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities
- Conduct initial patient evaluations, including medical history and physical examination.
- Assist in fertility consultations, ovulation induction monitoring, and treatment planning.
- Perform basic gynecological examinations and procedures as required.
- Monitor and manage patients undergoing fertility treatments (IUI, IVF cycles).
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the facility.
- Prescribe medications as per standard treatment protocols and consultant guidance.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records.
Operational & Administrative Responsibilities
- Coordinate with embryologists, nursing staff, and consultants to ensure seamless patient care.
- Supervise ward patients and day-care procedures.
- Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, infection control standards, and ethical guidelines.
- Support discharge planning and patient counseling.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and case reviews.
Patient Care & Communication
- Provide compassionate counseling to patients regarding treatment plans and procedures.
- Address patient concerns and provide clear explanations of investigations and follow-ups.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold patient dignity at all times.
Qualifications & Requirements
- BAMS/BHMS degree from a recognized medical institution.
- Valid Medical Council Registration.
- 1–2 years of clinical experience (experience in fertility/gynecology preferred).
- Certification or training in reproductive medicine (preferred but not mandatory).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in shifts, including weekends if required.
