Grade 1 Homeroom Teacher (HRT)
Position Overview
We are looking for a passionate, responsible, and enthusiastic Grade 1 Homeroom Teacher who can create a nurturing, engaging, and stimulating learning environment for young learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate, engaging learning experiences for Grade 1 students.
- Follow and effectively implement the school’s curriculum and learning framework.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and child-friendly classroom environment.
- Monitor and document students’ academic, social, emotional, and overall development.
- Use creative, inquiry-based, and hands-on teaching strategies.
- Maintain effective classroom management and discipline.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding student progress.
- Collaborate with co-teachers, coordinators, and specialist teachers.
- Maintain lesson plans, student records, portfolios, and other academic documentation.
- Participate actively in school events, assemblies, exhibitions, and professional development programmes.
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and emotional needs of all students are given priority.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in Grade 1 or primary years.
- Experience with Cambridge and/or IB curriculum is preferred.
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
- Pleasant, warm, and approachable personality.
- Passion for working with young children.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Ability to plan and execute engaging, differentiated learning experiences.
- Good understanding of child development and age-appropriate pedagogy.
- Creative, patient, adaptable, and solution-oriented approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Professional attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
- Good parent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable using basic digital tools and technology for teaching and documentation.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Education / relevant field.
- B.Ed / Montessori / Early Childhood Education qualification will be an added advantage.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
