Senior Business Intelligence & Analytics Specialist
JLL Technologies • Bangalore | P3
ABOUT THE ROLE
JLL Technologies is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence & Analytics Specialist to serve as the lead administrator for our enterprise BI ecosystem. You will own the strategic direction, governance, and operational excellence of Power BI, Tableau, and SSRS environments spanning both on-premises and Azure cloud infrastructure. You will drive large-scale platform migrations, architect security and compliance frameworks, and mentor a growing team — operating at the intersection of technical depth and business impact within a globally distributed, fast-moving organization.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Serve as the lead administrator and strategic owner of enterprise BI platforms — Power BI, Tableau, and SSRS — across on-premises and Azure cloud environments.
- Lead and coordinate the migration of SSRS reports and underlying infrastructure from SQL Server to Databricks, ensuring data integrity, business continuity, and seamless transition.
- Design and implement governance policies covering audit logs, data source and gateway connections, and information protection (sensitivity labels) across all BI environments.
- Direct tenant-wide configuration management, including workspace administration, licensing provisioning, and organizational settings (e.g., publishing permissions, AI visuals).
- Architect and enforce data security and compliance protocols; perform regular access reviews and audit log analysis.
- Design, implement, and maintain BI platform infrastructure across on-premises servers and Azure cloud, including hybrid deployments and Azure-based integrations.
- Develop and execute strategies for OS upgrades including migrations from Windows Server 2016 to 2022, ensuring application compatibility and platform currency.
- Automate migration processes and system management tasks using PowerShell, Python, and REST/Graph APIs.
- Monitor and optimize BI platform performance, proactively identifying and resolving connectivity, resource, and user activity bottlenecks.
- Interface with software vendors for escalated support cases, product enhancements, and roadmap discussions; manage upgrade and migration risks.
- Communicate platform status, incidents, and project progress clearly to business and technology leadership.
- Mentor junior administrators and business units; establish best practices and provide training on BI platform features, Databricks, and Azure-based BI.
- Maintain platform documentation, migration runbooks, and upgrade reports for operational transparency and audit readiness.
- Champion continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, enhance automation, and adopt emerging best practices.
- Lead disaster recovery planning and exercises; ensure HA/DR readiness for all supported BI platforms.
- Support on-call rotational weekend coverage as part of the enterprise support model.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Experience & Education
- 8-10 years of overall experience, with 5+ years in enterprise BI administration or analytics engineering.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Strong computer science fundamentals with a track record of delivering in complex, multi-platform environments.
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Extensive hands-on experience administering Power BI, Tableau, and SSRS in enterprise environments.
- Proven expertise planning and executing SSRS migrations from SQL Server to modern platforms such as Databricks.
- Deep knowledge of authentication, authorization, and role-based access controls for M365, Power BI, Tableau, and SSRS.
- Advanced skills in PowerShell and Python scripting for BI platform automation, monitoring, and integration.
- Strong expertise in tenant configuration, workspace administration, licensing management, and audit/compliance reporting.
- Proficiency in BI platform migrations and cross-platform integrations including REST/Graph APIs.
- Advanced knowledge of hybrid on-premises/cloud infrastructure and Azure integration.
- Experience with Windows Server OS upgrades (2016 to 2022), including application compatibility and update management.
- Familiarity with SharePoint integration, Tableau Postgres, and BI service health monitoring.
- Expertise in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and compliance management during large-scale platform changes.
- Experience with AI-driven analytics features in BI platforms, such as Power BI AI visuals, natural language querying, and automated insights generation.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
