Optometrist
Job Summary
We are seeking a fresher or qualified and patient-focused Optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care services. The ideal candidate will perform eye examinations, diagnose vision problems and common eye conditions, prescribe corrective lenses, and educate patients on maintaining optimal eye health. The Optometrist will work closely with optical staff and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations
- Assess visual acuity, binocular vision, color vision, and depth perception.
- Diagnose and manage refractive errors, including myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia.
- Detect and manage common eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, dry eye syndrome, and diabetic retinopathy, referring patients to ophthalmologists when necessary.
- Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and low-vision aids.
- Fit and evaluate contact lenses, including specialty lenses when required.
- Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and proper use of corrective lenses.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with optical staff to recommend suitable lens and frame options.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree or equivalent qualification recognized by the relevant regulatory authority.
- Valid license or registration to practice optometry.
- Strong knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, and common eye diseases.
- Proficiency in using optometric diagnostic instruments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and clinical decision-making abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–3+ years of clinical experience (preferred but not mandatory).
