Job Description
- Listen to recorded dictations and transcribe them into written reports using a computer or other transcription equipment.
- Edit and proofread transcripts for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure that all medical reports are properly formatted and filed according to established protocols.
- Understand medical terminology, procedures, and abbreviations to ensure accurate transcription.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Communicate with healthcare professionals to clarify any unclear dictations or medical terminology..
- Hostelers are preferred.
A doctor's typist may work in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, medical offices, and transcription companies. The job typically requires excellent typing and computer skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Additionally, a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is essential.
