Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Karumar to handle inspection, removal, replacement, and maintenance of vehicle suspension and spring-related components. The candidate will be responsible for identifying suspension issues and carrying out repair and replacement work safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect front and rear leaf springs for damage, wear, cracks, and other defects.
- Carry out removal and replacement of front and rear springs.
- Inspect, remove, and replace front spring I-bolts.
- Inspect, remove, and replace rear U-bolts.
- Inspect and replace front and rear spring beds.
- Check all spring hangers and carry out removal/replacement when required.
- Inspect spring pins and bushes and perform replacement work.
- Inspect and replace rear air balloons / air bags where required.
- Inspect air suspension V-rods, parallel rods, and bushes.
- Identify suspension-related problems and recommend appropriate repair or replacement.
- Ensure proper tightening and fitting of bolts, nuts, bushes, pins, and other suspension components.
- Follow workshop safety procedures and use appropriate tools and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the work area.
- Complete assigned repair and maintenance work within the required time.
- Coordinate with supervisors and the maintenance team regarding vehicle repair requirements.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of vehicle suspension and leaf spring systems.
- Hands-on experience in spring removal and replacement.
- Knowledge of U-bolts, I-bolts, spring pins, bushes, hangers, spring beds, and air suspension components.
- Ability to identify suspension faults and carry out necessary repairs.
- Ability to use workshop tools and equipment safely.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and complete assigned jobs efficiently.
Qualification & Experience
- ITI / Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical trade is preferred.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in vehicle suspension, leaf spring, or heavy-vehicle maintenance is preferred.
- Candidates with strong practical experience in Karumar / Spring Mechanic work may also apply.
Preferred Candidate
Candidates with experience working on commercial vehicles, buses, trucks, or fleet vehicles will be preferred.
