Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Camera Image Quality Engineer to join our imaging team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating, analyzing, and improving image quality across camera systems, with a primary focus on smartphone cameras. This role requires a strong understanding of camera imaging, image quality assessment, and photography fundamentals.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform image quality evaluation and testing for mobile phone cameras.
- Analyze image quality attributes such as exposure, color accuracy, white balance, dynamic range, sharpness, noise, texture, autofocus performance, and image artifacts.
- Execute structured test plans under various lighting and usage conditions.
- Identify, document, and track image quality issues and defects.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, ISP, and algorithm teams to improve camera performance.
- Generate test reports and provide recommendations for image quality optimization.
- Benchmark camera performance against competitor devices and industry standards.
- Stay updated with advancements in imaging technologies and camera evaluation methodologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Engineering, Imaging Science, Photography, or a related field.
- Experience in camera testing, image quality evaluation, or camera validation.
- Understanding of camera hardware, imaging pipelines, and image processing fundamentals.
- Knowledge of smartphone camera features and image quality metrics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and visual judgment.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to Image Signal Processing (ISP), camera tuning, or computational photography.
- Experience with DSLR or mirrorless cameras.
- Knowledge of photography principles and image aesthetics.
- Experience in image analysis, benchmarking, and performance optimization.
- Photography portfolio or hands-on photography experience is a plus.
