FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER – JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a technically competent and field-oriented Field Service Engineer to support our advanced Textile Printing Machinery. The role involves end-to-end responsibility for installation, commissioning, calibration, breakdown maintenance, and performance optimisation of machines operating in continuous textile production environments.
A personal vehicle and a valid driving license are mandatory.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute installation, commissioning, and production stabilisation of digital textile printers, rotary printing machines, and laser engraving systems at customer sites.
- Perform machine levelling, precision alignment, head calibration, ink system priming, and process parameter tuning.
- Diagnose and rectify issues related to print head performance, ink circulation systems, nozzle clogging, colour variation, and print banding defects.
- Troubleshoot servo drives, VFDs, PLC-based control systems, encoder feedback systems, and motion synchronisation issues.
- Handle technical issues related to fabric feeding systems, conveyor belts, blanket alignment, tension control, and print registration accuracy.
- Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance activities to ensure minimum downtime and maximum machine uptime.
- Perform laser calibration, engraving depth control, and optics alignment for laser-based systems.
- Analyse machine breakdowns using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement.
- Coordinate with internal teams for spares planning, technical escalation, and engineering modifications.
- Train customer operators and maintenance teams on machine operation and routine maintenance.
- Maintain detailed documentation, including service reports, downtime analysis, and performance logs.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and site-specific operational protocols.
KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Strong understanding of digital textile printing technology, inkjet systems, and industrial printing workflows.
- Hands-on knowledge of industrial print heads and ink delivery systems.
- Sound knowledge of PLC systems, HMI interfaces, servo systems, and motion control.
- Ability to troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems and automation-integrated machinery.
- Understanding of colour calibration, print profiling, and textile printing process parameters.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical layouts.
- Strong diagnostic and customer handling skills.
- Strong reporting, documentation, and analytical mindset.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Textile Engineering
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
