oriented Furniture Designer who is passionate about luxury design, material exploration, and
transforming concepts into meticulously crafted products.
Position Overview
The Furniture Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, developing, and supporting
the execution of premium furniture pieces from initial ideation through production. The ideal candidate
will possess strong design sensibilities, technical expertise, material knowledge, and hands-on
understanding of manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop innovative and high-quality furniture concepts aligned with the brand's design
philosophy.
- Create detailed 2D drawings, technical documentation, and production-ready design packages.
- Develop 3D models, visualizations, and presentations for client and internal reviews.
- Collaborate closely with production teams, craftsmen, vendors, and project stakeholders to
ensure design feasibility and execution excellence.
- Conduct material research and recommend suitable finishes, hardware, upholstery, and
construction techniques.
- Produce detailed prototypes, mock-ups, miniature models, and full-scale (1:1) product
developments.
- Ensure all designs meet ergonomic standards, accessibility requirements, and proportion
guidelines.
- Support product development, quality control, and design refinement throughout the
manufacturing process.
- Stay updated with global furniture, luxury lifestyle, and design trends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (4-Year Program) in Furniture Design, Product Design, Industrial Design,
Interior Design, or a related discipline.
- Candidates from reputed design institutions and premier colleges will be preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in furniture design (internships may be considered as
part of the overall experience based on project exposure).Software Proficiency
- 2D Design - AutoCAD
- 3D Design & Modeling – SketchUp, 3DS Max & ZBrush
- Presentation & Graphic Development - Adobe Photoshop & CorelDRAW
- Rendering & Visualization - V-Ray & Lumion
Technical Competencies
- Strong understanding of furniture construction techniques and manufacturing processes.
- Proven experience working within production environments.
- Detailed knowledge of materials including wood, veneers, metals, stone, glass, upholstery,
hardware, and specialty finishes.
- Expertise in developing products at both miniature and full-scale (1:1) levels.
- Strong understanding of proportions, ergonomics, furniture accessibility, and user-centric
design principles.
- Ability to create highly detailed technical drawings and production documentation.
- Strong problem-solving, visualization, and design-development skills.
