Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Duty Medical Officer to provide high-quality medical care to patients in the hospital/clinic. The candidate will be responsible for attending emergency and inpatient cases, coordinating with consultants, monitoring patient progress, and ensuring smooth clinical operations during assigned shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine, diagnose, and treat patients in OPD, IPD, and emergency departments.
- Provide immediate medical care and stabilise emergency cases.
- Monitor admitted patients and update treatment plans as required.
- Coordinate with consultants and nursing staff for patient management.
- Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
- Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests when necessary.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and code situations.
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, infection control, and safety standards.
- Counsel patients and attendants regarding treatment and follow-up care.
- Participate in ward rounds and handovers between shifts.
Requirements
- MBBS degree from a recognised institution.
- Valid Medical Council registration.
- 0–3 years of experience preferred (freshers can also apply).
- Good clinical judgement and emergency handling skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, nights, and weekends.
Preferred Skills
- Basic life support (BLS) / ACLS certification preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Team-orientated with strong patient care ethics.
