About ICEM Engineering
ICEM Engineering Co. (India) Pvt. Ltd., established in 1964, is a leading manufacturer of explosion-bonded clad plates and precision-formed pressure vessel components (dished ends, rolled shells, cones, expansion bellows). With ASME U and R stamps, two manufacturing facilities, and a 60-year track record, ICEM is transitioning from component manufacturing into complete pressure vessel, heat exchanger, and reactor fabrication — targeting ₹1,000 crore revenue within 3–5 years.
Role Purpose
Own the sales cycle for pressure vessel equipment (vessels, columns, heat exchangers, reactors) targeting Indian oil and gas refineries, petrochemical complexes, gas processing plants, and their EPC contractors. This person will be the commercial bridge between ICEM’s manufacturing capability and the domestic O&G industry’s equipment procurement ecosystem — from AVL registration and pre-qualification through bid submission, negotiation, and order closure. The primary market is India; candidates with additional EPC/end-user relationships in GCC or Southeast Asia will have an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a business development plan targeting Indian oil & gas end-users (Reliance, IOCL, BPCL, HPCL, ONGC, MRPL, CPCL, NRL) and their EPC contractors (L&T, Thermax, TOYO India, Tecnimont, GR Engineering, etc.)
- Secure ICEM’s AVL / vendor registration at target Indian EPCs and end-users for pressure vessel equipment supply
- Identify upcoming refinery turnarounds, capacity expansions, petrochemical projects, city gas distribution, and gas processing opportunities through industry intelligence and personal networks
- Prepare techno-commercial proposals for complete equipment packages, coordinating with ICEM’s estimation and engineering teams on costing, weight estimates, and delivery schedules
- Lead commercial negotiations, including pricing, payment terms, LD clauses, warranty terms, and delivery milestones
- Manage the complete bid cycle: pre-qualification, technical bid, commercial bid, clarifications, negotiations, and LOI/PO closure
- Build relationships with key decision-makers: procurement heads, project managers, and engineering managers at target accounts
- Coordinate with ICEM’s QA team on pre-inspection meetings (PIMs), QAP approvals, and client-specific quality requirements
- Track and report on sales pipeline weekly, with clear visibility on opportunity stage, probability, value, and expected closure timeline
- Represent ICEM at industry events such as Petrotech, India Energy Week, India Chem, and OTC (if pursuing export)
- Where export opportunities arise (GCC, SEA), support proposal preparation and client engagement in coordination with ICEM’s export team
Requirements & Qualifications
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory); MBA is a plus
- 8–15 years of sales/BD experience in pressure vessel equipment, heat exchangers, reactors, or columns sold to Indian oil & gas / petrochemical clients
- Demonstrable track record of order booking (₹50 Cr+ annually preferred) with verifiable client references from the Indian market
- Strong working knowledge of ASME Section VIII Div.1/2, TEMA, API standards, and relevant material specifications (SA 516, SA 240, SA 264, etc.)
- Understanding of pressure vessel fabrication processes: welding, forming, heat treatment, NDE, and hydrotesting
- Familiarity with EPC contractor procurement workflows, vendor pre-qualification systems, and equipment MR (Material Requisition) evaluation as practiced by Indian EPCs
- Existing network of contacts at major Indian oil & gas companies and EPC firms is essential
- Experience with export sales to GCC or SEA markets is a valued addition but not mandatory
- Willingness to travel 40–50% domestically, with occasional international travel if export opportunities develop
- Excellent English communication (written and verbal); Hindi required
Key Performance Indicators
- Annual order booking value from O&G / petrochemical clients (domestic primary)
- Number of new EPC/end-user AVL registrations secured per year
- Proposal-to-order conversion ratio
- Pipeline value maintained at 3–4x annual booking target
- Client retention and repeat order rate
What ICEM Offers
- A high-impact role at the centre of ICEM’s strategic pivot into equipment fabrication
- Direct reporting to the Managing Director with full commercial autonomy for the O&G vertical
- Opportunity to build the equipment sales function from scratch in a company with proven manufacturing capability and ASME U/R stamps
- Performance-linked incentives directly tied to order booking value
- Potential international exposure through GCC and Southeast Asian export opportunities as the vertical matures
