Good Shepherd International School (GSIS), a premier international residential school, is seeking a dedicated and experienced DP & MYP Mathematics Teacher. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong subject expertise, a learner-centric approach, and a passion for delivering high-quality Mathematics education within the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP) frameworks.
The teacher will be responsible for fostering analytical thinking, conceptual understanding, and problem-solving skills while nurturing a positive and engaging learning environment.
Plan, design, and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons aligned with IB MYP and DP frameworks.
Develop lesson plans that address diverse learning styles, abilities, and student needs.
Integrate technology, inquiry-based learning, and real-life applications to enhance conceptual understanding.
Ensure vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment within the Mathematics department.
Design and administer formative and summative assessments in line with IB criteria and standards.
Provide timely, constructive, and actionable feedback to support student progress and reflection.
Prepare students effectively for internal assessments, external examinations, and DP requirements.
Maintain accurate academic records and contribute to data-driven instructional improvement.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating classroom environment.
Provide additional academic support through remedial classes, enrichment sessions, or individualised guidance.
Identify learning challenges early and collaborate with the Learning Support and Counselling teams where required.
Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development in line with GSIS values.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to strengthen cross-curricular links and interdisciplinary learning.
Actively participate in departmental meetings, planning sessions, and school-wide initiatives.
Engage in continuous professional development to remain current with IB pedagogical practices and Mathematics education trends.
Contribute positively to departmental growth and academic excellence.
Participate actively in school events, co-curricular activities, and pastoral responsibilities.
Maintain open and professional communication with parents through meetings, reports, and conferences.
Uphold school policies, procedures, and the ethos of an international residential school environment.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics or a related field.
Teaching certification or equivalent professional qualification.
IB MYP and/or DP training and certification is strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of IB MYP and DP Mathematics curricula and assessment practices.
Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in integrating educational technology into teaching and assessment.
