We are looking for an experienced candidate to fill the role of Network Design Engineer – AWS, with strong knowledge in carrier-grade network design, routing, and cloud-based network solutions
Responsibilities:
- Develop High-Level and Low-Level Design documents to support Sky’s network architecture.
- Oversee software and hardware selection, perform bug and security vulnerability assessments, and collaborate with Test and Delivery teams on test plans, reports, and change tickets.
- Drive platform improvements, enable automation, and implement scalable DevOps-ready solutions.
- Design carrier-grade network solutions in compliance with Sky’s design standards.
- Work with cross-functional teams to elicit business and technical requirements during the project lifecycle.
- Ensure designs meet reliability, availability, longevity, and cost-efficiency standards.
- Collaborate with technology partners to plan feature roadmaps, software releases, and budget submissions.
Must-Have:
- Proven experience working for a Service Provider or Telco/Carrier environment (mobile, security, or infrastructure).
- Strong hands-on expertise in carrier-grade network design and service provider technologies (routing, switching, and security).
- Demonstrated ability to produce HLDs, LLDs, presentations, and technical diagrams.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting risks, obtaining sign-offs, escalating issues, and providing weekly updates.
- Exposure to Next-Generation Firewall technologies (e.g., FortiGate).
- In-depth understanding of distributed hardware architecture and Nokia 7750 platforms.
- Strong command over ISIS, MPLS, RSVP, TE, Hierarchical QoS, LACP, and BGP protocols.
Nice-to-Have:
- Knowledge of Python and GIT for configuration management and automation.
- Familiarity with F5 LTM/GTM (or similar load-balancing technologies) and Mobile 5G networks.
