An AQME (Assistant Quality cum Material Engineer) in civil engineering and highway construction projects is responsible for site material testing, quality control, and ensuring compliance with technical specifications. [1, 2]
Core Responsibilities
- Material Testing: Conduct routine testing of construction materials (like soil, aggregate, bitumen, and concrete) both in the field and the lab.
- Quality Control: Ensure road and structural components (embankments, subgrades, GSB, WMM, DBM, and bridge works) meet MORTH, IRC, and IS standards.
- Mix Design: Assist with concrete and bituminous mix designs and establish job mix formulas (JMF).
- Site Supervision: Identify and analyze defective or non-compliant work, coordinate with contractors, and report findings to senior engineers.
- Documentation: Maintain proper site records, test reports, and measurement books as per project guidelines. [3]
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Education: Degree (B.E./B.Tech) or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: Typically 2 to 5 years of experience in QA/QC or material testing for infrastructure, highway, or bridge projects. [4, 5]
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹17,000.00 per month
