Job Summary
The supervisor oversees daily Environmental Services (EVS) operations to ensure a germ-free, safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
This role coordinates shift schedules, inspects facility cleanliness, manages biomedical waste disposal protocols, and trains personnel on hospital-grade sanitation.
Key Responsibilities
Staff Management: Assign daily tasks, plan shift schedules, arrange staff replacements for absences, and conduct performance evaluations.
Infection Control & Safety: Ensure compliance with health regulations, oversee proper handling and disposal of biomedical/biohazard waste, and monitor safe chemical usage.Quality Inspections: Conduct routine checks of patient rooms, operating theaters, corridors, and restrooms to meet medical sanitation standards.
Training & Onboarding: Train new and existing staff on hospital hygiene protocols, equipment handling, and safety compliance.Inventory Management: Monitor cleaning supplies, protective equipment (PPE), and machinery, placing orders as needed.Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Report maintenance issues promptly and coordinate with nursing or facility management teams.
Qualifications & RequirementsEducation: High school diploma or GED required; a diploma or degree in facility management, hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: 2 to 5 years of housekeeping experience, with prior supervisory experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.Skills:Strong knowledge of infection control standards and hazardous waste protocols.Leadership, time management, and conflict-resolution abilities.Clear verbal and written communication skills.Physical stamina to stand, walk, and conduct facility inspections for long periods
