Role Summary
The ServiceNow Platform Architect will be responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing ServiceNow solutions at an enterprise scale. The role will provide technical leadership across multiple agile delivery teams and ensure that the platform is designed in alignment with CSDM v5, ITIL best practices, and ServiceNow Zurich release capabilities, with a strong focus on scalability, automation, upgradeability, and maximum adoption of out-of-the-box capabilities. The role will involve close collaboration with business stakeholders, SMEs, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and development teams to build a cohesive ServiceNow ecosystem across ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, automation, governance, and enterprise planning.
Key Responsibilities
● The candidate will define and own the end-to-end ServiceNow platform architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and upgradeability, and will act as the technical authority across multiple ServiceNow implementations and agile teams. The role will involve making architectural decisions aligned with ServiceNow best practices and CSDM v5 while promoting minimal customization and maximum use of out-of-the-box features, workflows, and AI-driven capabilities.
● The candidate will architect and implement ServiceNow modules including CMDB and CSDM v5, Service Catalogue, ITSM Pro+, Now Assist, Virtual Agents, ITOM, Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, Workflow Data Fabric, Integration Hub, and IRM/GRC. The role will also involve driving automation-first solutions using Flow Designer, Integration Hub, RPA Hub, Now Assist agents, and AI/ML capabilities.
● The candidate will lead CMDB and Discovery architecture, including CI classes, relationships, data quality, reconciliation, governance, service models, business services, and application services. They will also define CMDB health metrics, audit mechanisms, and continuous improvement processes while applying ITIL best practices across Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Asset, and Service Portfolio Management.
● The role will also require experience designing and overseeing integrations between ServiceNow and on-premise applications, cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and GCP, and enterprise tools across monitoring, security, finance, HR, and ERP. Strong knowledge of Integration Hub, REST/SOAP APIs, MID Servers, event-driven integration patterns, Python, Now Assist, Virtual Agents, and RPA Hub is expected.
● The candidate will technically lead multiple agile teams, collaborate with senior technical and business stakeholders, translate business requirements into scalable technical designs and delivery roadmaps, and communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
Required Skills and Experience
● The candidate must have proven experience designing and implementing at least two complete ServiceNow instances covering multiple product families, along with deep hands-on expertise in the ServiceNow Zurich release.
● Strong expertise in CMDB architecture, CSDM v5, ITSM Pro+, ITOM, Discovery, Service Mapping, Integration Hub, Workflow Data Fabric, Flow Designer, and IRM/GRC is required.
● The candidate should also have a strong understanding of ITIL processes, service lifecycle management, enterprise-scale automation, ServiceNow scripting using JavaScript and Glide APIs, REST/SOAP integrations, MID Server architecture, data modelling, CI reconciliation, normalization, performance, security, upgrade-safe design, and cloud/hybrid integration patterns.
Leadership and Certifications
● The candidate should demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to influence architecture decisions and lead without authority, experience working with senior business and technology stakeholders, and strong mentoring and coaching capabilities.
● Knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and SAFe, is expected. ServiceNow CTA or Certified Master Architect and ITIL v4 certifications are desirable, along with relevant ServiceNow CIS certifications.
