Role Overview:
The QA Manager will be responsible for overseeing all quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with FDA standards across India, and maintaining the highest levels of product quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cosmetic chemistry, a deep understanding of the roles of raw materials in formulations, and the ability to develop and implement SOPs as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the quality assurance processes for the manufacturing unit to ensure compliance with FDA standards (India-wide).
Develop, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Monitor production processes to ensure all products meet the company’s highest quality standards.
Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for any quality issues.
Collaborate with the R&D and production teams to ensure raw materials and finished goods meet quality specifications.
Perform and document quality audits, inspections, and testing protocols.
Ensure all necessary certifications, licenses, and quality records are maintained and up to date.
Develop and deliver quality training programs for staff to promote awareness of quality standards and procedures.
Stay updated on changes in FDA regulations, quality assurance trends, and cosmetic manufacturing advancements.
Manage relationships with external auditors, suppliers, and certification bodies.
Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Background: M.Sc. in Cosmetic Science or Chemistry is mandatory.
At least 5 years of experience in quality assurance within the cosmetic manufacturing industry.
Certification in Quality Management Systems (such as ISO 9001 or similar) from a reputable authority.
In-depth knowledge of FDA standards, GMP, and other regulatory requirements in India.
Strong understanding of cosmetic chemistry and the functional roles of raw materials in formulations.
Proven ability to create, review, and implement SOPs and quality protocols.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and leadership skills to guide cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in using quality assurance tools and software.
