About the Role
The Premium Basket is looking for a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to support kitchen operations, maintain food quality standards, and assist in menu execution and team supervision. The ideal candidate should have strong culinary knowledge, leadership abilities, and experience in handling production kitchens efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and food production
- Supervise kitchen staff and ensure smooth workflow during operations
- Maintain consistency, taste, quality, and presentation standards
- Ensure proper food preparation and portioning
- Monitor inventory, raw material usage, and stock levels
- Maintain hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards in the kitchen
- Train and guide junior chefs and kitchen staff
- Coordinate with procurement and operations teams for kitchen requirements
- Reduce wastage and maintain cost control practices
- Support in developing new recipes and menu innovations
- Ensure compliance with SOPs and production schedules
- Handle batch-wise production planning and coordination
- Monitor equipment usage and report maintenance requirements
- Conduct quality checks before dispatch/packaging
- Assist during festive/high-volume production periods
- Maintain documentation related to production and hygiene audits
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques
- Leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Basic inventory software or ERP knowledge
- Time management and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Attention to detail in taste and presentation
Preferred Experience
- Experience in premium food brands, hotels, restaurants, cloud kitchens, or catering preferred
- 4-6 years of culinary experience
- Experience in confectionery, gourmet snacks, gifting, or premium food products is an added advantage
Qualification
- Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts preferred
Salary
- ₹45,000 – ₹50,000 per month (Based on experience and expertise)
