Job Title: Safety Head – Civil Industrial Projects

Location: Project Sites (Multiple Locations)
Job Summary
The Safety Head is responsible for leading, implementing, and monitoring all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) activities across civil industrial construction projects. The role ensures compliance with applicable safety regulations, company policies, and client requirements while promoting a strong safety culture to achieve zero incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor project-specific HSE plans and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with local laws, statutory regulations, client requirements, and company HSE standards.
- Lead safety teams across multiple project sites and provide technical guidance.
- Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification (HIRA/JSA), and recommend preventive measures.
- Plan and conduct safety inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Organize safety induction programs, toolbox talks, emergency response drills, and awareness campaigns.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and enforce safe work practices.
- Monitor high-risk activities such as:
- Work at height
- Excavation
- Lifting operations
- Confined space entry
- Hot work
- Scaffolding
- Electrical safety
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities on HSE matters.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports and performance metrics.
- Develop emergency preparedness and response plans and conduct mock drills.
- Monitor environmental compliance, including waste management, pollution control, and sustainability initiatives.
- Mentor and train site safety officers and supervisors.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve zero Lost Time Injuries (LTI).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Civil preferred).
- Professional qualification in Industrial Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent.
- NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safely, OSHA, or equivalent certifications preferred.
- First Aid and Fire Safety certifications are desirable.
Experience
- 12–18 years of experience in HSE management within civil and industrial construction projects.
- At least 5 years in a leadership role managing multiple project sites.
- Experience with EPC, industrial plants, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, refineries, power plants, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
