Job Description: Junior QA Engineer
Experience: 2 – 2.5 Years
Location: Mumbai (Work From Office)
About the Role
We're looking for a skilled QA Engineer with 2-2.5 years of experience to join our team. You'll be responsible for ensuring the quality of our software products through both manual and automation testing. You'll work closely with developers to identify bugs, test complex features, and ensure our product meets high-quality standards before reaching users.
What You'll DoTesting & Quality Assurance
- Create test plans and test strategies for complex features (login systems, payment flows, user authentication)
- Perform manual testing to find bugs before users discover them
- Conduct automation testing using modern tools to reduce repetitive work
- Test APIs and backend services to ensure components communicate correctly
- Validate data in databases (PostgreSQL/MongoDB) to confirm information is saved accurately
- Perform negative testing (testing with invalid data) to ensure the system handles errors safely
- Do exploratory testing to find unexpected bugs in edge cases
Automation & Technical Work
- Build and maintain automated test suites using Playwright/Cypress
- Automate API tests using Postman + Newman or RestAssured/Supertest
- Write reusable code (page objects, helper utilities) to make testing faster
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/GitLab CI)
- Test authentication flows (OAuth 2.0, JWT tokens, session management, SSO)
- Mock third-party services for testing using WireMock/MSW
Collaboration & Communication
- Report bugs clearly to developers with steps to reproduce
- Work with the tech team to understand feature requirements
- Participate in testing planning discussions
- Document test results and quality issues
Must-Have Skills
- 2-2.5 years of hands-on QA/testing experience
- Experience in both manual testing AND automation testing
- API Testing: Proficient with Postman (or similar tool)
- Automation: Hands-on with Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium
- Database: Can write queries for PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or MySQL
- Authentication Testing: Experience testing login systems (tokens, sessions, OAuth)
- CI/CD: Basic knowledge of GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins
- Knowledge of Redis
- Experience with OAuth 2.0, JWT tokens, PKCE authentication flows
Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
