Job Summary
Tagore Medical College & Hospital is looking for a qualified and responsible Pharmacist to join our hospital pharmacy team. The candidate will be responsible for dispensing medicines safely and accurately, maintaining pharmacy records, managing stock, and ensuring compliance with hospital and pharmacy regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense medicines and prescriptions accurately as per the physician's instructions.
- Verify prescriptions, dosage, quantity, and medication details before dispensing.
- Provide appropriate information to patients regarding medicines and their usage.
- Maintain proper records of medicines issued, received, and returned.
- Monitor pharmacy stock and ensure timely replenishment.
- Check medicine expiry dates and maintain proper storage conditions.
- Follow hospital pharmacy policies, infection control practices, and safety procedures.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, purchase, and other departments regarding medication requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation and inventory records.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of high-alert and temperature-sensitive medicines.
- Support periodic stock verification and pharmacy audits.
- Perform other pharmacy-related duties assigned by the Pharmacy In-charge / Management.
Qualification
- D.Pharm / B.Pharm from a recognized institution.
- Valid Tamil Nadu Pharmacy Council Registration.
Experience
- 1 year or more of relevant hospital/retail pharmacy experience preferred.
- Freshers with relevant qualification and registration may also apply.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of medicines and prescriptions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts.
- Good teamwork and patient-care skills.
