The role applies rigorous strategic-political-research discipline before any brief reaches a client, because an unsourced strategic claim is worse than no claim at all.
Strategic political research is a standing duty rather than an occasional task: most organizations discover strategic-research gaps when a political engagement has already gone wrong, but here political advisors intercept them upstream — in the source review, the comparative-jurisdictional check, and the discretion protocol.
