Position Title : Deputy General Manager (DGM) – Projects (Civil Construction)

Location : CGC University Mohali
The Deputy General Manager (DGM) – Projects is responsible for leading and overseeing the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of civil construction projects within defined timelines, budgets, quality standards, and safety requirements. The role involves managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, and government authorities, and ensuring operational excellence across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities :Project Planning & Execution
- Lead end-to-end execution of civil construction projects including residential, commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or mixed-use developments.
- Develop project execution strategies, construction schedules, resource plans, and milestone tracking systems.
- Ensure timely completion of projects within approved budgets and contractual obligations.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to address delays, risks, and cost overruns.
- Review and approve project methodologies, work programs, and construction sequences.
Project Management & Control
- Establish project controls for cost, quality, safety, and schedule management.
- Conduct regular project reviews and performance assessments.
- Monitor productivity, resource utilization, and project profitability.
- Prepare MIS reports, project dashboards, and management presentations.
- Manage change orders, claims, variations, and contractual compliance.
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical guidance on construction methodologies, structural works, finishing works, and infrastructure development.
- Review engineering drawings, BOQs, specifications, and technical submissions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and statutory regulations.
- Drive value engineering initiatives to optimize costs without compromising quality.
Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with clients, architects, consultants, contractors, and government authorities.
- Participate in client meetings and provide project status updates.
- Resolve technical, contractual, and operational issues through effective stakeholder engagement.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
Quality Assurance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to quality management systems and project quality plans.
- Implement best practices in construction quality control and inspection processes.
- Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE standards and legal requirements.
- Conduct regular audits and corrective action reviews.
Financial Management
- Monitor project budgets, cash flow, and cost control measures.
- Review and certify contractor bills, vendor payments, and project expenditures.
- Support procurement planning and contract negotiations.
- Ensure achievement of project financial objectives and margin targets.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop project managers, engineers, site teams, and support staff.
- Establish performance goals and accountability measures.
- Promote collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across project teams.
Build a high-performance project delivery culture.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Mandatory).
Experience :
- 15–20+ years of experience in civil construction and project management.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role managing large-scale construction projects..
Experience in EPC, high-rise buildings, industrial projects, infrastructure, or large commercial developments preferred.
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: ₹80,000.00 - ₹1,50,000.00 per month

Mohali, Punjab: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred)
Experience : 10–15+ years of experience in high-rise building construction
