Job Summary
We are looking for a responsible, enthusiastic, and patient-friendly Dental Assistant to support our dental doctors and ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the Dental Department at Meitra Hospital.
The candidate will assist doctors during dental procedures, maintain instruments and clinical areas, support patient coordination, and ensure proper infection-control and documentation practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist dentists and specialists during dental procedures and treatments.
- Prepare the dental operatory, instruments, materials, and equipment before procedures.
- Assist with chairside procedures, including passing instruments and materials to the doctor.
- Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and storage of dental instruments.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the dental treatment area.
- Prepare and arrange dental materials required for different procedures.
- Support doctors during procedures such as RCT, extraction, restorations, prosthodontic procedures, orthodontic procedures, implants, and minor surgical procedures.
- Assist in preparing patients for treatment and provide basic support before and after procedures.
- Maintain proper stock of dental materials and consumables and inform the concerned person when replenishment is required.
- Ensure instruments and equipment are available and ready for use.
- Maintain proper patient records and assist doctors with clinical documentation when required.
- Coordinate with the front office and other hospital departments when necessary.
- Follow hospital protocols related to infection control, patient safety, and workplace hygiene.
- Handle dental instruments and equipment carefully and responsibly.
- Support the dental team in maintaining smooth patient flow and reducing waiting time.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Dental Department management.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualification: Diploma/Certificate in Dental Assisting or relevant qualification preferred.
- Freshers with basic knowledge and a willingness to learn may also apply.
- Previous experience in a dental clinic or hospital is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Basic understanding of dental instruments, procedures, and infection control is preferred.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient-friendly and professional attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn different dental procedures and assist multiple dental specialties.
- Ability to maintain cleanliness, discipline, and proper documentation.
