Job Summary
SM Enterprises is seeking a skilled Bending Machine Operator to operate CNC and sheet metal bending machines for the fabrication of cleanroom panels, doors, HVAC components, and other engineered products. The candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality bent metal parts according to engineering drawings while ensuring safety, accuracy, and productivity. SM Enterprises manufactures cleanroom solutions, HVAC systems, modular operation theatres, industrial doors, and related engineered products.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC bending/press brake machines.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and production specifications.
- Select appropriate tooling and machine settings based on material type and thickness.
- Measure and inspect finished components using measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Perform first-piece inspection and in-process quality checks.
- Handle sheet metal materials safely and efficiently.
- Maintain production records and daily machine logs.
- Perform routine machine cleaning and preventive maintenance.
- Report machine issues, breakdowns, or quality concerns to supervisors.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and company quality standards.
- Coordinate with fabrication, welding, and assembly teams to meet production schedules.
Required Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical compulsory.
- 2–3 years of experience operating CNC Press Brake or Bending Machines.
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring instruments.
- Understanding of machine programming and tooling setup.
- Attention to detail and quality awareness.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf, Yawei, Salvagini or similar CNC bending machines.
- Knowledge of stainless steel, GI, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Understanding of manufacturing quality standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
