Mushroom Lab Technician / Mushroom Cultivation Technician

About the Company
We are setting up a modern, technology-driven mushroom cultivation facility focused on the production of high-quality specialty mushrooms, including Cordyceps militaris, Lion’s Mane and Oyster mushrooms.
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Mushroom Lab Technician to join our team and help establish and operate our mushroom laboratory and culture-production processes.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize mushroom culture media and substrates.
- Prepare and maintain mushroom cultures and mother cultures.
- Perform aseptic inoculation and transfers using sterile techniques.
- Maintain agar plates, liquid cultures and grain/spawn cultures.
- Monitor cultures for contamination and healthy mycelial growth.
- Identify common bacterial and fungal contamination.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, hygiene and sterilization standards.
- Operate autoclaves, laminar airflow cabinets, sterilizers and other laboratory equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of media preparation, batches, cultures, contamination and production.
- Follow standardized SOPs for laboratory and mushroom-production processes.
- Assist in developing and improving mushroom cultivation protocols.
- Work closely with the production team to ensure consistent, contamination-free spawn and cultures.
- Maintain inventory of laboratory consumables and raw materials.
- Assist with experiments and trials involving different mushroom strains, substrates and cultivation conditions.
- Follow proper safety, sanitation and biosecurity procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma/B.Sc./M.Sc. in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Botany, Life Sciences, Agriculture or a related field.
- Previous experience in mushroom cultivation, tissue culture, microbiology or a sterile laboratory environment.
- Practical experience with agar culture, culture transfers, liquid culture or grain spawn is highly desirable.
- Good understanding of aseptic/sterile techniques.
- Ability to recognize contamination and troubleshoot laboratory problems.
- Experience operating an autoclave and laminar airflow cabinet is an advantage.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining production and laboratory records.
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs consistently.

Freshers with relevant education in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Botany, Agriculture or Life Sciences may also apply if they have strong practical knowledge and a genuine interest in mushroom cultivation.
Candidates with hands-on mushroom cultivation experience will be preferred.
