Role Overview
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing and implementing individualized intervention plans, monitoring progress, maintaining clinical documentation, and working closely with parents and other professionals.
The role also involves contributing to treatment planning, and maintaining high standards of clinical practice at Nurturers.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for children and individuals with developmental, sensory, motor, behavioral, and functional challenges.
- Identify areas of difficulty related to fine motor skills, gross motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, coordination, motor planning, handwriting, activities of daily living, attention, and functional participation.
- Develop individualized, measurable and functional therapy goals based on assessment findings.
- Plan and deliver structured, engaging and developmentally appropriate occupational therapy sessions.
- Use appropriate therapeutic approaches and activities based on the individual's needs and clinical presentation.
- Regularly monitor progress and modify intervention plans based on response to therapy.
- Conduct periodic reassessments and prepare progress reports.
Parent & Caregiver Collaboration
- Communicate assessment findings, therapy goals and progress clearly with parents/caregivers.
- Provide practical home-program recommendations and strategies that can be incorporated into daily routines.
- Conduct parent counselling and help families understand the purpose and expected outcomes of intervention.
- Maintain professional and empathetic communication with families.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
- Work closely with special educators, speech and language therapists, psychologists, behavior therapists and other professionals to develop holistic intervention plans.
- Participate in case discussions and multidisciplinary reviews.
- Coordinate with schools, when required, to support functional carryover and participation in educational settings.
Senior-Level Responsibilities
- Mentor and guide junior occupational therapists and interns.
- Review therapy plans and provide constructive clinical feedback.
- Support the development of therapy protocols, activity resources and clinical practices.
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews and professional development initiatives.
- Contribute to maintaining clinical quality and consistency across occupational therapy services.
- Support the leadership team in developing and improving OT programs and services.
Documentation & Professional Practice
- Maintain accurate and timely assessment records, session notes, treatment plans and progress reports.
- Ensure confidentiality and ethical handling of client information.
- Follow professional standards, organizational policies and evidence-informed practices.
- Maintain a safe, child-friendly and inclusive therapeutic environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (BOT/MOT) from a recognized institution.
- 3–7 years of relevant clinical experience, preferably in pediatric rehabilitation, developmental therapy, special education or related settings.
- Strong understanding of child development and developmental conditions.
- Experience in assessment, goal setting, intervention planning and progress monitoring.
- Good understanding of sensory processing, fine and gross motor development, visual-motor integration, handwriting and functional/ADL skills.
- Strong clinical observation and reasoning skills.
- Excellent communication and parent-counselling skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience mentoring junior therapists will be an advantage.
- Professional registration/membership, wherever applicable, is preferred.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
