Job Overview
We are hiring a responsible and skilled Operation Theatre Technician to support surgical procedures by preparing the OT, maintaining sterility, and assisting the surgical team. The candidate must ensure that all instruments and equipment are properly arranged and functional before, during, and after surgery.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Pre-Operative Duties
- Prepare and sterilize the operation theatre.
- Arrange surgical instruments as per procedure list.
- Check OT table, surgical lights, suction machine, cautery machine, and monitors.
- Ensure availability of sterile linen and surgical supplies.
Intra-Operative Duties
- Assist surgeons and nurses during surgery.
- Handle and pass instruments correctly.
- Maintain sterile field throughout the procedure.
- Monitor and support anesthesia equipment if required.
Post-Operative Duties
- Clean and disinfect OT after surgery.
- Send instruments for sterilization (CSSD).
- Maintain OT stock and inventory records.
- Dispose biomedical waste as per hospital protocol.
Qualification
- Diploma / B.Sc. in Operation Theatre Technology.
- 0–3 years of experience in hospital OT.
