Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Electrical Maintenance & Breakdown Management
- Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance on motors, panels, transformers, cabling, and control circuits across all milling lines.
- Attend breakdowns on priority to minimize downtime; log root cause and corrective action.
- Service LT panels, DBs, starters, VFDs, capacitor banks, and DG electrical systems.
- Ensure motors, conveyors, elevators, and interlocks run within rated parameters.
2. Statutory Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all work complies with Grade C license scope and TN Electrical Inspectorate norms.
- Maintain statutory records (license renewal, earthing/IR test reports, inspection certificates).
- Enforce PPE and LOTO procedures; report unsafe conditions to the Maintenance Head.
- Coordinate with TANGEDCO/EB and licensed contractors for inspections and load enhancements.
3. Preventive Maintenance & Documentation
- Prepare and follow a PM schedule for electrical assets across all 8 units.
- Maintain equipment history cards/logs; support annual shutdown planning and execution.
4. Electrical Spares Management
- Maintain adequate stock of critical spares (cables, MCBs, OLRs, contactors, relays, fuses, starters) to avoid stock-outs.
- Maintain an updated spares register/bin card (spec, received, issued, balance) with defined reorder levels; raise indents proactively.
- Store spares in a labeled, organized rack protected from moisture/dust; verify condition and rating before issue.
- Track spares consumption against jobs to identify recurring failures; conduct monthly stock verification.
- Coordinate with Stores/Purchase for timely procurement; tag and dispose of faulty spares per procedure.
5. Energy & Cost Efficiency
- Monitor power factor, load patterns, and energy use; recommend cost-reduction measures.
- Support upkeep of energy-efficient equipment (VFDs, LED lighting, capacitor banks).
6. Coordination & Reporting
- Align maintenance windows with Production, QC, and Despatch schedules.
- Submit daily/weekly maintenance, breakdown, and spares status reports to the Maintenance Head.
- Supervise helper/trainee electricians; liaise with vendors for major repairs or upgrades.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
