Profile: Costing Executive
Experience:
2-5 years of relevant experience in costing, commercial, finance or textile manufacturing, preferably with textile/fabric costing experience, along with strong Excel and costing knowledge.
Job role:
We are looking for a
Costing Executive responsible for preparing accurate
product-wise, order-wise and container-wise costing, analyzing material, production, processing, packing, logistics and other applicable costs, monitoring actual vs. estimated costs, and supporting management in
pricing, margin and profitability decisions.
Roles:
Product & Order Costing
Prepare product-wise and order-wise cost sheets. Calculate costing for
greige, dyeing, processing, printing, finishing and packing. Calculate material consumption, wastage and process losses. Prepare per-meter, per-piece and total order costing. Ensure costing is completed before quotation/order confirmation.
Material & Process Cost Analysis
Collect and verify current material purchase rates. Maintain updated rates for greige, processing, dyes/chemicals, packing and other inputs. Analyze changes in material and processing costs. Monitor standard consumption vs. actual consumption. Identify major cost drivers and areas of cost leakage.
Actual vs. Estimated Cost
Compare estimated/standard costing with actual production cost. Prepare variance analysis. Identify reasons for cost variations such as wastage, rejection, rate changes and excess consumption. Report significant cost deviations to management.
Pricing & Profitability
Support the Sales/Merchandising team in preparing quotations. Calculate expected gross margin/profitability for orders. Highlight low-margin or loss-making orders before approval. Provide costing data for price negotiation with customers.
MIS & Reporting
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly costing reports. Maintain product-wise and customer-wise costing records. Prepare cost variance and profitability reports. Maintain a proper costing database and historical cost records.
Coordination
Coordinate with
Sales, Purchase, Production, Merchandising, QC, Accounts and Management. Collect accurate consumption, production and purchase data. Ensure costing assumptions are aligned with actual production conditions. Support ERP costing and data-entry activities.
Qualification:
B.Com / M.Com / BBA or equivalent. Textile-related qualification will be an added advantage
Technical Skills
Strong
MS Excel skills, including: VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP SUMIFS Pivot Tables IF formulas Basic costing models ERP knowledge preferred. Good understanding of cost sheets and MIS reporting.
