Job Summary
The CT & MRI Technician is responsible for performing high-quality CT and MRI imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and compliance with hospital protocols. The technician will work closely with Radiologists and the clinical team to provide accurate diagnostic imaging services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform CT and MRI scans as prescribed by the Radiologist.
- Prepare, identify, and position patients correctly for imaging procedures.
- Explain imaging procedures and obtain informed consent where applicable.
- Ensure adherence to radiation safety and MRI safety protocols.
- Assist in contrast administration as per hospital policy and under Radiologist supervision.
- Monitor patients during and after imaging procedures for any adverse reactions.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images and upload them to PACS/RIS.
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
- Perform routine quality checks and basic maintenance of CT/MRI equipment.
- Report equipment malfunctions to the Biomedical Engineering Department.
- Follow NABH, AERB, infection control, and hospital safety guidelines.
- Coordinate with Radiologists, Nursing staff, and other departments for efficient patient care.
- Participate in emergency and on-call duties as assigned.
Qualification
- B.Sc. in Medical Imaging Technology / Radiography or
- Diploma in Radiology Imaging Technology (DRIT/DMIT) or equivalent from a recognized institute.
Experience
- 2–5 years: CT & MRI Technician
Required Skills
- Knowledge of CT and MRI imaging protocols.
- Understanding of radiation protection and MRI safety.
- Patient handling and communication skills.
- Familiarity with PACS/RIS and Hospital Information Systems (HIS).
- Ability to work independently and in rotational shifts.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality patient care.
